One of the most common and yet destructive experiences in life is the disease of addiction. Studies indicate that in the United States today, over one third of all persons and families have been affected by this spiritual, physical and emotional malady. Father Tobin has both a personal and professional experience in confronting and treating this disease. In recovery himself for several years, Father Tobin helps clients first to admit to their struggles with and powerlessness over their addiction, and then encourages the client to employ both the psychological and spiritual tools available to begin with and to continue on the road to recovery. Emphasis is put on active participation in the 12 Step Programs that are available in local communities, but all conversation is kept confidential and anonymous in keeping with the traditions of the Recovery Communities worldwide
